A Day in the Life of an HVAC Technician: Keeping Kent Cool

Rise and Shine: The Early Bird Gets the Cool Air

As a technician at World Class Services, my day starts bright and early. I’m up at 5:30 AM, ready to tackle the challenges of keeping our customers comfortable in Kent, WA, and the surrounding areas.

7:00 AM: First Call of the Day

My first stop is in Federal Way for an AC replacement. The homeowner’s unit is well past its prime, and they’re excited about the energy savings a new system will bring. I carefully remove the old unit and install the new one, ensuring everything is properly connected and functioning.

10:30 AM: Emergency AC Repair in Renton

Next, I rush to Renton for an urgent AC repair. The customer’s system stopped working overnight, and with temperatures rising, it’s crucial to get it fixed quickly. After diagnosing the issue, I replace a faulty capacitor and get their cool air flowing again.

1:00 PM: Lunch Break and Route Planning

I take a quick lunch break and plan my afternoon route. The dispatcher informs me of two AC service calls in Des Moines and Burien.

2:00 PM: Routine Maintenance in Des Moines

At the Des Moines residence, I perform a routine AC service:

  • Clean or replace air filters
  • Check refrigerant levels
  • Inspect and clean condenser coils
  • Ensure proper thermostat function

4:30 PM: Wrapping Up in Burien

My final stop of the day is in Burien for another AC service call. The homeowner mentions some unusual noises, so I pay extra attention to the fan and compressor during my inspection.

6:00 PM: Heading Home

As I drive back to Kent, I reflect on another successful day of keeping our community cool and comfortable. Tomorrow, I’ll be off to Covington for more AC adventures with World Class Services!
